KTR Claims Minister Jupally Krishna Rao Behind BRS Leader Murder

The BRS working president accused the Congress of fostering a culture of political murders in Telangana.
Hyderabad | 23rd May 2024
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao accused the Congress of fostering a culture of political murders in Telangana.

He alleged that minister Jupally Krishna Rao was responsible for this culture in Kollapur, and that he had introduced factionalism to Telangana in an unprecedented manner.

Speaking after paying tribute to the body of BRS leader Sridhar Reddy, who was murdered in Kollapur, and commiserating with his family, KTR said that the minister was behind two murders committed within four months, and that those atrocities could not have occurred without the minister's support.

KTR assured Reddy's family that the party would support them in every way possible.

KTR also demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, if he possessed any integrity, should immediately dismiss Jupally Krishna Rao from the Cabinet.

"This is not the first murder in this constituency. Two people have been murdered here within four months. Mallesh Yadav was killed earlier, and now Sridhar Reddy has been murdered. The government should take responsibility for these heinous acts," KTR said.

He criticised the Congress for its regime of revenge against those who did not support it in the elections.

He also expressed his distrust of the local police, demanding their immediate suspension and calling for action against the responsible officers.

"The police were supposed to arrive within ten minutes of the incident, but showed up an hour and a half later, playing the role of spectators," KTR said.

The police were also pressuring Reddy's father to avoid mentioning the minister's name in any complaint, he alleged.

He insisted on either an SIT or a judicial inquiry into the murders, and said that if the government and the minister truly had no involvement in the crime, they should ensure an impartial investigation.
