Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Sunday accused the Union Ministers from the Seemandhra region of providing "misleading information" to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here, KTR said that the Seemandhra Union Ministers have been "conspiring to stall the process of Telangana formation" and therefore, providing wrong information to the GoM.
Disputing the claim that Rs. 50,000 crore have been spent on Hyderabad, he asked the union ministers to furnish the break-up of the amount being spent on the state capital.
He said that Hyderabad was already a metro city even before it became part of Andhra Pradesh.
He added that it was the Seemandhra leaders, and not Hyderabad that "gained" in the united Andhra Pradesh.
KTR also slammed the Telangana Congress leaders for lacking commitment over the statehood issue.
Instead of countering the false propaganda against Telangana formation, the T-Congress leaders have been busy lobbying for the post of Chief Minister after thestate's bifurcation, KTR alleged.
He said that instead of resorting to politics, the T-Congress leaders should concentrate on helping the families of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of a separate Telangana state. (INN)
