Putting an end to the speculation that the Konda couple are set to leave YSRC, the husband and wife duo said that they will stay with the party.
The couple also claimed that they want to see Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as Chief Minister.
They reportedly called on Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the Chanchalguda jail to discuss party affairs, and reiterated their support to the party.
Earlier, there was talk that Konda Murali and his wife Konda Surekha may move out of the party. They were not active in the party programmes and did not attend vital dharnas held in the Telangana region.
Dismissing rumours, the couple said, "We will be with the party. The talk about our leaving the party is false and we are not joining any other party".
The couple had met the honorary party president Y S Vijayalakshmi on Monday, regarding their possible resignation from the party.
Party sources revealed that the YSRC leaders did not want to lose Konda Murali and Konda Surekha as they are two of YSRC's stronger political leaders in the Northern Telangana region.
A top YSRC leader said, ?Konda Surekha sacrificed her ministerial post as well as her MLA position for Jagan. Her husband Murali also relinquished his MLC post in order to stand behind Jagan. If they leave the party at this juncture, wrong signals will go to people that the party is neglecting its old-timers for the sake of newcomers. Hence, Vijayamma did not want to precipitate the matter further and agreed to the demands of the Konda couple".
After meeting Jagan in jail, the couple said that they are firmly with the party. (INN)
