Staunch Y S Jaganmohan Reddy loyalist Konda Surekha on Tuesday demanded that All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Sonia Gandhi answered each and every question raised by the former MP in his 5-page resignation letter sent to her.
Talking to media person, Surekha charged that Jaganmohan Reddy had resigned from his post after the political machinations by a section of the Congress leadership had become increasingly vile, and the political conspiracy against him had embroiled devious methods.
The former minister reiterated Jaganmohan Reddy's assurance that his loyalists would remain in the Congress till 2014, when general elections were due. She added that these loyalists would not take any minister's post even if offered.
Putting the new government on notice, Surekha warned that she would personally take part in the pro-Telangana statehood agitations if the Justice Srikrishna Committee gave an adverse report on the statehood issue.
She also reminded that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao had gone mum on the contentious issue, and demanded that he made his stance clear.
The former minister also demanded that the secret pact between KCR and Congress leader K Kesava Rao be revealed.
Accusing the Congress of trying to mislead the people of Telangana, Surekha said that the post of Deputy Chief Minister to a leader from the region was a red herring.
The Parkal MLA further demanded that those MLAs who were in contention for a cabinet berth should clarify stand on the separate statehood issue.
