Legislative Council chairman Dr. A Chakrapani, on Monday, disqualified Konda Murali from the membership of the state Legislative Council, for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
Earlier, Council whip Y Shivarami Reddy lodged a complaint with the Legislative Council chairman against Konda Murali, for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities. After repeated consultations over the matter, the chairman finally disqualified Konda Murali on Monday.
It may be mentioned that Konda Murali was seen accompanying YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy on various occasions.
Konda Murali had sent the Council chairman a letter, claiming that he was not well, and seeking a time period of 40 days to appear before the him, but Council whip Shivarami Reddy objected to the request.
However, on Monday, Dr. A Chakrapani, with the aid of proof presented by Congress leaders, disqualified Konda Murali from the Council membership.
However, no action has been initiated against MLC Pulla Padmavathi, who earlier told the Council chairman through a letter that she has not not indulged in any kind of anti-party activities and that she would continue as a loyal worker of the Congress. (INN)
