Congress MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today announced that he would go on a padayatra against the "failures" of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's government.
He also clarified that he would launch the padayatra on his own, and not as part of a party initiative. He however said that he would take up the padayatra only after getting permission from the party high command.
He unfurled a litany of grievances against the TRS government. He charged the CM with failing to convince the Krishna River Board to provide drinking water to Nalgonda's people. He also said that no official or irrigation minister T Harish Rao had addressed the issue of the drying Udaya Samudram, which provided water to 540 villages, and warned that the state government alone would be held responsible if the people invaded the roads.
He also ridiculed the Chief Minister for taking credit for providing fluoride-free water to Nalgonda district.
He also demanded that the state government withdraw the GO issued to utilize central funds meant for Gram Panchayats before the sarpanches revolted, and also alleged that the state government was dividing the people on the basis of castes.
