At last, Telangana Congress leader Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy finally announced that he would be joining the BJP in the State.
Addressing mediapersons in the national capital on Tuesday, Reddy said that he had decided to join the BJP to defeat the ruling TRS in the State.
He also said that he felt strongly that he could not do justice to his constituents by continuing in the Congress.
He disclosed that he got feelers from the BJP twice, and that he had held discussions with BJP leader Ram Madhav on the issue.
Reiterating that the BJP was the only alternative to the TRS in the State, Reddy said that the BJP had a great future in the State.
Refuting allegations that he had decided to join the BJP to protect his business interests, he said that he would have joined the TRS long back if that was what he wanted.
