Kites, the much-awaited summer outing starring Bollywood hearthrob Hrithik Roshan and Mexican beauty Barbara Morri, has reportedly won many a heart in its US premier on May 16. Opening to an excited audience in New York at the AMC Empire Theater in Times Square on Saturday, it was well received by both critics and viewers.
The premier was attended by lead actors Hrithik Roshan & Barbara Mori, along with Hrithik's father Rajesh Roshan. Also present were the Roshan family's good friends director Karan Johar, and Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan.
One of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of 2010, Kites will reach UK on May 18, and will premiere in London at the Odeon West End.
Directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan, the movie is being distributed and marketed by co-producers Reliance Big Pictures. The movie's plot is a love story about an Indian man's affair with a Latin woman and their predicament as they don't understand each other's language. The story steers through the couple's journey to an "unexpected" betrayal.
Slated for a worldwide release on 21st May, the English version of the movie called 'Kites: The Remix' - specially edited to suit foreign audiences - is all set to release on May 28th.
