Hema Malini Gets Akkineni Award

"Dream Girl" Hema Malini will receive the Akkineni Award for 2011, for her outstanding contribution to film land.

The Award was instituted by the Akkineni Inernational Foundation to honour people who dedicated their life to Indian cinema.

Dev Anand was the recipient of the inaugural edition, and others who followed include Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanti Mala, Lata Mangeshkar and K Balachander.

The Award will be presented to her on 26 December at a grand function which will be attended by luminaries of the film industry and the political field. (INN)
