Former union minister Kishore Chandra Deo today said that he would be joining the Telugu Desam Party soon.
Talking to mediapersons after meeting TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi today, Deo confirmed the rumours doing the rounds for several days now.
"I spoke to Naidu and will be joining the party," he said.
The constituency that he would be contesting from was not discussed in the meeting with Naidu, he added. He is however likely to be fielded by the TDP for the Araku Lok Sabha seat.
Deo said that there was no alternative to the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.
For the uninitiated, during his visit to Kuruppam in Vizianagaram district, Deo had expressed his displeasure with the Congress and had resigned from the party.
