Kishan Reddy Slams KCR For Delaying Highway Works
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today alleged that the development of highways in Telangana had been delayed by the KCR regime.
Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today said that the development of national highways in Telangana had been hindered not by the Centre, but by the state government itself.
Reddy claimed that the union government had already given the state government permission to develop 1,400 km of highways, and to convert 700 km of the highways into expressways.
However, the development of the highways had been stalled due to the disinterest of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his government, he said.
"Though the Centre has repeatedly asked the state government to extend its support to the completion of the highway projects, the latter has not cooperated in any way," the BJP leader alleged.
Asking the TRS government to complete the highway-laying work with the help of the Centre, Reddy also urged it to expedite the land acquisition process for various national highways.
