Union Minister G Kishan Reddy today slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking a decision to boycott the Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog, saying it was against the federal spirit of the country.
Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Reddy said that it was completely wrong for KCR to boycott the meeting, which was meant to discuss the development of the country.
While he conceded that KCR was free to abstain from the meeting, Reddy condemned the allegations of the Chief Minister against Niti Aayog, and alleged that the comments of the CM were politically motivated.
Reddy claimed that KCR had made the allegations as he was frustrated with the growth of the BJP in Telangana.
He said that the KCR government, which had taken credit after the rankings of the Niti Aayog, was now targeting it, and added that the CM had changed his attitude due to the changed political circumstances in the State.
Reddy also asked the CM why he failed to fulfil his promises like distribution of three acres of land to the landless dalit families. He said that the union government had given freedom to all the States to build as many houses as possible after identification of land plots for the construction purpose, and that the union government was releasing funds for the houses built by the State governments, but that the KCR government was not implementing the housing scheme in the State as it was scared that the credit for building the houses would go to the union government.
