Coming out in support of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar reddy, in the face of constant and overwhelming flak he has been facing with regard to the steep
hike in the power tariff, Congress MLA Gandluru Veera Siva Reddy commended the Chief Minister for "providing the state with strong and stable leadership in the face of a barrage of problems left behind by the previous governments".
"Whether it is the 'Jagan issue', the Telangana agitation, or the energy crisis, Kiran Kumar Reddy has been dealing with them all admirably. The only reason why the opposition has ganged up against him is because they want to discredit him ahead of the elections," he said.
"Kiran Kumar Reddy is a man of priciples, the only clean CM, untainted by corruption. You will all see. In 2014, Kiran Kumar will come back as the Chief Minister of a united Andhra Pradesh," said the MLA from Kadapa.
Criticising YSRCP for supporting TRS in its no confidence motion against the government, during the recent budget session of the assembly, Veera Siva Reddy said that the party's support to TRS' vote of no confidence was an inadvertant show of support to the cause of AP-bifurcation, and that it was disrespectful to the party president Y S Jagan's father Y S Rajashekhar Reddy, who had been a staunch supporter of keeping the state united.
