Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday evening convened a meeting with senior ministers to discuss the issue of Congress MLAs working alongside party nemesis and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The ministers gathered were reportedly of the opinion that the
victory of the Congress in the Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections was largely due to the party whip issued. Those gathered opined that the Congress ministers who did not participate in the election process should be punished.
Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that all the ministers actively supporting Jagan would no longer receive any assistance from the government, and that the rest of the party was instructed to not extend any help to those supporting Jagan.
The CM is also reported to have submitted a written complaint against erring ministers to Speaker Nadendla Manohar, and stated that stringent action would be taken against them.
