Chintala Paidi Raju, a 26-year-old engineer hailing from Visakha district, who was
kidnapped by Bodo rebels in Assam 13 days ago, was reportedly released by them at 5am this morning.
Paidi Raju, an engineer for C&C Constructions Ltd., was reportedly kidnapped by militants belonging to the National Democratic Front of Bodoland, and held for ransom. Post negotiations with the company officials, and payment of the amount yesterday, Paidi Raju was released early this morning, and left close to a police station in Dhekia Puta area of Baksha district, where he was kidnapped from.
The 26-year-old is reportedly healthy and unhurt, and said that the kidnappers had kept him in the interiors of the forests.
He relatives are extremely relieved, and one of them is currently on his way to bring Paidi Raju back home, who is being questioned by the Assam police on particulars of his abductors.
