Keerthi Richmond Villas Laddu Fetches Rs 1.26 Crore

Setting a new record, the Ganesh laddu at Keerthi Richmond Villas in Sun City, Bandlaguda Jagir, was auctioned for a staggering Rs 1.26 crore today.

This price is said to be the highest ever recorded in the Telugu States.

Last year, the laddu was sold for about Rs 65 lakh.

Every year, the Richmond Villas residents organise an auction of the Ganesh laddu as part of the festivities. The money raised from the auction is used for charity purposes.

Meanwhile, the very popular Balapur Ganesh Laddu broke its own record this year and fetched Rs 27 lakh in an open auction held before the start of Ganesh immersion procession today.

Dasari Dayananda Reddy, a resident of Turkayamjal, purchased the laddu at Rs 27 lakh, breaking the previous year's record.

Last year, the laddu fetched Rs 24.6 lakh.

The amount earned through the laddu auction is spent on various development activities in Balapur village.

The police made elaborate arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the auction. After conducting special pujas and prayers, the Balapur Ganesh was taken in a mammoth procession for the immersion.
