KCR Unveils 26-Feet-Tall Statue Of Narasimha Rao
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today unveiled a 26 ft-tall bronze statue of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao at the P V Gnana Bhoomi.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today unveiled a 26 ft-tall bronze statue of former Prime Minister of India P V Narasimha Rao at the P V Gnana Bhoomi on Necklace Road, in Hyderabad.
The statue was unveiled at the closing ceremony of the former PM's year-long birth centenary celebrations which began last year.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR requested the Centre to honour Narasimha Rao with the Bharat Ratna award in recognition of his services to the nation, and revealed that the Telangana Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution putting forth this appeal.
He lauded the leader for having ushered in radical reforms that had benefited many in society, and added, "Today's leaders must learn from PV how to carve a niche for themselves in politics by implementing schemes that can help the people they represent. PV is remembered even today for his financial and land reforms that brought growth to India. As a visionary, multi-faceted personality he always tried his best to work towards the uplift of the poor. We must all imbibe his values and vision."
As part of the celebrations, Necklace Road, rechristened as PVNR Marg, was opened to the public, and eight books, including four written by the former PM, were released as well.
The CM then announced that his government would soon set up a PV Peetham at Warangal's Kakatiya University in memory of the beloved leader.
PV Centenary Celebrations Committee Chairman and MP K Keshava Rao, daughter of the former PM MLC Vani Devi, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Srinivas Goud, and Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and various MPs, MLAs, and MLCs were present for the ceremony.
Today's program was the culmination of a series of one-year-long events held to celebrate P V Jayanti (the former PM's birth centenary).
