Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will inaugurate the newly constructed Collectorate complex for Peddapalli district on Monday.
Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar on Sunday visited Peddapalli town and inspected the arrangements for the CM's program.
After the inauguration of the complex, the CM will address a public meeting in the town.
TRS leaders are planning to mobile about one lakh people for the meeting.
Speaking to the media, Kamalakar said that the Peddapalli area used to have continuous tracts of barren lands due to non-availability of irrigation water, and that the people there used to face harrowing experiences. However, with the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, water supply for irrigation had improved drastically, and lush green paddy fields were now seen everywhere in the district.
He said that Peddapalli occupied a special place in the heart of KCR since the latter had launched the movement for a seperate Telangana State from there, and that Peddapalli district was granted by the Chief Minister even though the people there had not asked for it due to that reason.
He claimed that the fruits of various schemes being implemented by the State government were reaching all the eligible people of the district, and that it had been progressing on all fronts under the leadership of the CM.
The minister was accompanied by MLAs Dasari Manohar Reddy and Sunke Ravi Shankar, and others.
