Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Telangana Forum convener Nagam Janardhana Reddy on Friday alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao's praise of the Congress is a clear indication of a plot to water down the demand of formation of a separate Telangana state.
Reddy told media persons that KCR's first preference was not the formation of a separate Telangana state and he wanted to strengthen the Congress in the name of Telangana.
The convenor also demanded explanation from KCR about the need for calling Congress MP K Kesava Rao in New Delhi, and holding secret meetings with him before the submission of the Srikrishna Commission report in December.
"When all pro-Telangana people are agitating for a separate Telangana, the TRS leader has bowed down his head before the Congress leaders, and has promised to extend support to Congress in the event of formation of Telangana state. This only shows his true colours and commitment towards Telangana," the TDP leader criticised.
Senior TDP leader Devender Goud also suspected KCR's commitment regarding Telangana. He accused KCR of cheating people in the name of Telangana, and surviving and benefitting from statehood issue.
