MIM floor leader in the Telangana Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi advised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to emulate former CM Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in taking up the welfare of minorities.
Participating in the debate on the state budget in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday, Owaisi said that YSR was the only Chief Minister who took practical measures for the development of minorities, especially Muslims.
He said that YSR's role in giving 4% reservation to Muslims in jobs and education could not be forgotten ever.
He added that it was YSR who took liberal decisions and extended benefits like fee reimbursement, scholarships, Arogyasri and loans to the minorities.
He said that YSR was completely honest in his approach, and really wanted the minorities to grow up in their lives and careers.
Owaisi claimed that the chair of the Leader Of The House in the Assembly always reminded him of YSR. He said that KCR should emulate YSR and take practical steps for the development of the minorities in Telangana. (INN)
