Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today ordered officials to complete Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya by 2017 end.
At a review meeting at MCR HRD on Monday, the Chief Minister felicitated department officials for taking up the two water projects expeditiously, and offered 1.5% incentives to contractors of the projects if they managed to complete the internal works in rural areas on time.
He asked them to keep up the expeditious pace of work and ensure that the equipment being used to construct pipelines, intake wells, water treatment plants and sub stations met quality standards.
KCR also directed officials to overcome teething problems while laying quality pipelines in rural areas and fit connected taps in every household in Telangana by 2017.
"We are planning to allocate more funds in the upcoming budget as the State government will get Rs. 8,000 crores in addition to Rs. 22,000 crore promised by various financial institutions," the Chief Minister said.
This project was going to be etched in history as even the Centre was planning to emulate these two projects throughout the State, with officials of nearly six States in the nation visiting Telangana in the past month to conduct a case study on these projects, he claimed.
