Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has promised to fill 3,174 vacant posts in the Forest Department at the earliest.
Addressing a review meeting with the officials at the Forest Academy AT Dulapally in Ranga Reddy district on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that steps would be taken to fill all the vacancies in the Forest Department.
He has also agreed to provide two-wheelers to Beat Officers.
Stating that the government was firm on protecting the forest cover, he informed that the Haritha Haram scheme had been launched to increase the forest cover across Telangana.
KCR directed the officials to take steps to protect the forests in the State. He also directed the local police to assist the forest officials in their operations.
Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna and senior officials of the Forest Department were also present on the occasion. (INN)
