Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao promised to introduce a new policy for the real estate sector to ensure single-window clearances for all the realty projects in the State.
Speaking after inaugurating the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI)'s Hyderabad Property Show 2014 at Hitex on Friday, KCR said that the Telangana Government realised the importance of the realty sector, and would take all steps to promote it.
Despite being larger in size compared to Delhi, Hyderabad was not developed in a scientific manner by the previous regimes, he said. He acknowledged that lakhs of people were earning their livelihood due to the construction industry, and stated that the government would ensure that it grew without any glitches.
The Chief Minister said that a proper master plan for Hyderabad was not drawn. Encroachments on storm water drains went unchecked, and the system was neither regulated nor disciplined. He therefore promised a meeting with all the stakeholders to identify and resolve the problems being faced by them.
He also assured that his government would show zero tolerance for corruption by introducing the world's best single-window system for clearance of realty projects. He also explained again the features of his much-touted Chasing Cell which he has been promising to set up as part of the CMO to attract investments.
KCR added that the government would soon replace nearly 4,000 street-lights with LEDs. There was also a proposal to construct two super highways connecting the East-West and North-South corridors, he mentioned. He said that the first 4-lane super highway would be constructed between Ramachandrapuram and Vanasthalipuram. A regional ring road parallel to the Outer Ring Road would also be constructed.
In all, the government would invest nearly Rs 10,000 crores on the construction of 1,000 km of roads of international standards, he said. All cables in the city would be taken underground through a duct.
KCR assured the real estate industry of all assistance for their projects in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, CREDAI president Sekhar Reddy, and other officials and non-officials also participated. (INN)
