Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has promised to construct a "Brahmin Bhavan" in Hyderabad.
Addressing the "Archaka Mahasabha" at the Kakatiya Degree College grounds in Hanumakonda on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the Brahmin Bhavan would be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crores.
He said that he had been receiving the blessings of Chinna Jeeyar Swami for the past two decades. Stating that he was the first to set up a Brahmin Parishad, he said that the government would also help temples for the promotion of spiritual and religious teachings for peace.
The Chief Minister also promised to resolve the problems being faced by the Archakas (priests) in the State. He said that he would direct Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to convene a meeting with the Secretary of the Endowments Department to list out the problems and find their solutions.
He assured that the government would never utilise the revenues of the endowments department, and instead, would provide the required funds for the maintenance of temples.
He also promised to increase the charges of the "Dhupa Deepa" services to Rs 6,000.
Stating that the government had taken a decision to sanction grants for Vedic schools, KCR said that the government would give good news to all Archakas in the State in the month of February. (INN)
