KCR Promises Fast Paced Development Of Telangana
The CM unveiled several welfare schemes while addressing the people of Telangana from the historic Golconda Fort on the country's 68th Independence Day.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday unveiled several welfare schemes while addressing the people of Telangana from the historic Golconda Fort on the occasion of the country's 68th Independence Day.
Besides launching the schemes to distribute 3 acres of land to each landless Dalit family, KCR also announced several ambitious plans.
He said that the recently constituted Telangana Public Service Commission would recruit nearly 50,000 people soon. Further, as many 3,600 vacant posts in the Police Department would be filled in the next year.
He also said that nearly 5 lakh acres of land would be kept at the disposal of the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, to be allotted to different companies investing in the State.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government's resolve to establish a Pharma City, a Sports City, a Cinema City, a Manufacturing City and other infrastructural projects around Hyderabad. Plus, a network of satellite townships would be formed in and around Hyderabad.
He said the city would be promoted as a hub for education, health and garments.
He stressed on improving the connectivity in Hyderabad through the establishment of bus and railway terminals. He also said that new airports would be constructed in different parts of Telangana.
He hoped that Hyderabad would soon become a Wifi- and 4G-enabled city.
KCR said that his government would allocate Rs 1,000 crores for the welfare of minorities and provide 12% reservation to Muslims, as promised earlier. He added that judicial powers would be granted to the Wakf Board.
A committee headed by a retired judge would be constituted to provide 12% reservation to Scheduled Tribes in Telangana, too, he promised.
KCR said that the government would not go back on its promise of regularising the services of contract employees. He said that a panel had already been formed to study the proposal.
He condemned the criticism of the proposed Intensive Household Survey on August 19. He said that the government only aimed to extend the benefits of its welfare schemes to deserving beneficiaries based on the data collected through the survey.
The Chief Minister also listed out the various works done by his government since June 2. They included the release of input subsidy to farmers, abolition of transport tax for auto-rickshaws and tractors, and initiating the process to convert hamlets with over 500 population to Gram Panchayats.
He said that several news schemes would be launched soon.
During his half-an-hour speech, KCR highlighted the importance and relevance of the Golconda Fort to Telangana's history and culture. He appreciated the vision and foresight of the Qutb Shahi and Asaf Jahi rulers who constructed Hyderabad with all amenities. (INN)
