Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has assured that the drinking water problem being faced by the people of the Mahabubnagar district would be gone in very little time.
Addressing different meetings during his tour of Patha Palamoor, TD Gutta, Erramannugutta, Patathoti and other areas on Sunday, the Chief Minister admitted that the people of the Mahabubnagar district were getting water supply only once in every 14-15 days.
However, he assured that the Mahabubnagar town would soon get water supply from the Srisailam Project.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the non-availability of basic amenities in Patha Palamoor. Stating that the residents were not having even proper toilets, he proposed that common toilets be constructed for the people in those areas.
He exhorted the people to fight unitedly to overcome problems like poverty. He said that special stress would be laid on the implementation of self-employment schemes. He also assured to take up housing for the poor on a priority.
Promising that he would re-visit the district within eight days to lay the foundation stone for the housing scheme, he directed the employees to complete the construction works within 3-4 months.
Earlier on Sunday, the Chief Minister left for Mahabubnagar through a helicopter from the Begumpet Airport.
During his visit, he also interacted with the senior officials and also held a review meeting of the Zilla Parishad. (INN)
