Ahead of the Assembly budget session in the last week of February, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is expected to execute the much-awaited Cabinet expansion in a day or two.
According to information received, the TRS leadership is expecting the expansion in two days at most. The CM is known to be a staunch believer in astrology and religion, and is said to have finalized the date after discussions with his astrologers.
It is also about time. The 15th Finance Commission will be visiting the city for three days from February 18 to 20. It is essential for the government to have a full-fledged cabinet in place by then. Then, there is the budget session kicking off in barely a week.
The party leadership feels that in the unlikely scenario that the cabinet expansion does not happen in the next few days, it may then be only in the last week of this month - February 26 or 27, after the budget session. However, it is unlikely that KCR will go into the budget session without a finance minister.
