Impressive Numbers For IT Sector Revealed By KTR
The Telangana IT minister released the performance report of the IT department for 2021-22 at the Tech Mahindra Office in Hi-Tech City today.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao said that the IT and ITES sectors in Telangana had achieved phenomenal progress during the last eight years, and were amongst the fast-growing sectors in the State.
Releasing the performance report of the IT department for 2021-22 at the Tech Mahindra Office in Hi-Tech City today, KTR said that IT exports from Telangana grew at 26.14% in 2021-22, recording Rs 1,83,569 crore, up from Rs 1,45,522 crore in 2020-21.
Employment in the IT and ITeS sectors had also increased by 23.7% to reach 7,78,121 in 2021-2022, he said.
The IT sector across the country had generated about 4.5 lakh new jobs last year, of which over 1.5 lakh were in Telangana, he added.
Telangana had achieved the growth for the second year in succession despite the pandemic, the minister gushed.
To put things in perspective, KTR said that in 2014 Telangana's IT exports were Rs 57,258 crore and IT employment was 3,23,397.
The State government was aiming at increasing IT exports to Rs 2.90 lakh crore by 2035, he said.
