Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced Rs 100 crore today to develop the Kaleswara Mukteswara Swamy temple on the banks of the river Godavari as a tourist destination and a spiritual hub.

As part of the ongoing Kaleswaram project works inspection, the Chief Minister KCR visited the Kaleswara Mukteswara Swamy temple and the goddess Parvati temple along with his family members and officials on Sunday. Later, the CM spent time with the archakas on the temple premises.
Since the Kaleswaram project was going to attain prominence and lakhs of people would be visiting the place, the temple needed development, with a kalyana mandapam and a place for discourses by visiting seers, the CM said. Towards this, he instructed the district Collector to procure 600 acres of land for the temple. For this purpose government, private and forest lands could be acquired if required, the CM said.
