Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today got emotional at the death of his close lieutenant and Dubbaka MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy.
As he placed a wreath on the body of Reddy at Chittur village in the Dubbaka constituency where the last rites were performed, KCR could not control his tears.
Himself in visible shock at the sudden death, the CM consoled the family members of Reddy at the site.
Several top leaders of the TRS including T Harish Rao, K T Rama Rao, Niranjan Reddy, Balka Suman and Kranti Kiran were also present.
Separately, Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan too expressed shock at the demise of the MLA.
Paying rich tributes to the departed leader's services as a journalist and as an activist in the Telangana statehood movement, and later as a four-time MLA, the Governor said that Reddy's death was a great loss to the state.
She offered her condolences to the bereaved family members of the departed legislator, and said that she prayed that the Almighty give them strength to overcome this grief.
