KCR Expresses Happiness Over Success of GES 2017

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed his happiness over the successful organization of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017, the inaugural of the Hyderabad Metro Rail and other programs in the past 2-3 days.

The CM congratulated Chief Secretary S P Singh, DGP M Mahender Reddy, and the civil and police administration. The CM said that the departments concerned had all coordinated quite well and helped in the successful organization of the events.

The CM had special thanks for the police department, which he said ensured that the events all went off without any hiccups and without causing even the mildest discomfort to the visiting dignitaries from the country and abroad despite the stringent security measures. The police had maintained high quality standards and yet ensured a lot of decorum, he said. He said that he had received a message from the Centre, too, praising the Telangana police.

He also said that after the success of the GES, the prestige of Hyderabad had been enhanced around the world.

The CM said that the police had also won the appreciation of the US Secret Service. Since the US President's daughter and Advisor Ivanka Trump, too, attended the event, the US Secret service was directly involved in the security arrangements, and the head of the service thanked the Telangana DGP in written for a job well done, the CM said. The US Secret Service shared the details of Trump's movements with the local police only at the last moment each time. For example, they said that she would fly in by a special jet, but she came in a common passenger flight. They said that she would stay in the Westin but she stayed at the Trident. They also kept secret about her visit to the Golconda Fort. The Telangana police, too, were prepared with Plan A and B in tune with the US Secret Service, and responded to the last minute changes in the programs in a pretty agile fashion. This was the reason that the US Secret Service officials congratulated and thanked Mahender Reddy multiple times, the CM said.
