All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday alleged that TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao had come to power in Telangana only to loot it of its wealth and make his family wealthier.
Addressing a road show for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections in support of the Praja Kutami candidate for the Gajwel Assembly constituency Vanteru Pratap Reddy, Azad said that the credit for the creation of separate Telangana went to the Congress. He also claimed that all the welfare programs which were being implemented by the TRS government were in fact programs launched by the Congress during its previous tenure.
Speaking of the injustice meted out to the people who had lost their land for development projects, Azad said that the KCR government had given only 10% of the total promised compensation to the land oustees who had lost their valuable lands for the construction of irrigation projects in the state.
Azad concluded by saying that he was very happy to see the excitement of the people of Gajwel, and expressing confidence that Reddy would register a massive victory in the upcoming elections.
