Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has called for a 24-hour Telangana Bandh on Saturday.
Talking to reporters after attending the all-party meeting on Telangana here on Friday, KCR said that nothing came out of the meeting, and that it was a futile exercise.
Stating that he was not satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, KCR said that one week was sufficient for the Centre to announce its decision after the all-party meeting. However, by promising a decision within one month, the Centre was trying to delay the decision further.
"They are not serious, and lack sincerity in resolving the issue. They lied to us several times, and now we don't believe them," KCR said.
The TRS chief said that while the Congress offered a divided opinion during the meeting, the TDP adopted a confusing stand. The new entrant, the YSR Congress Party, gave no opinion of its own, and left the decision to the Centre.
He said that these 3 parties were primarily responsible for the delay in the decision on Telangana. He also called upon the Congress leaders to resign from their parties and join the statehood movement.
KCR appealed to the people in the region, especially those living in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, to support the Telangana bandh. He announced that the TRS would intensify its agitation to achieve statehood for the region. (INN)
