Won’t Recognize AP Govt.: KCR
No bandh tomorrow, but will launch a non-cooperation movement against the AP government.
Hyderabad | 24th December 2009
A merry Christmas and a happy New Year, indeed. At Kalinga Bhavan today, there was much vitriol to be partaken of.
KCR, the TRS chief, addressed a meeting of Telangana politicians from the TRS, PRP, BJP, TDP and the Congress. A new Joint Action Committee was formed from these leaders.
KCR said that because of appeals by a Christian organization, the bandh scheduled for tomorrow has been revoked, in view of Christmas celebrations. The TRS had, yesterday, called for a 48-hour bandh in Telangana, following the centre’s latest official statement on separate statehood.
The TRS chief said that the TRS doesn’t recognize the government of AP anymore, and said that Rosaiah must quit as CM as it is unethical for him to go on. He said that the JAC would go on a non-cooperation movement across the state, and the decision would be taken on Friday.
A pledge was undertaken by everyone attending the JAC meeting that they would all unselfishly and honestly fight for the Telangana cause, despite any obstacles on the way, until the mission of separate statehood was achieved.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that government servants cutting across ranks – right from Zilla Parishad employees to MPs and MLAs – would resign. KCR said that he would request the AP Assembly speaker to accept the resignations of all MLAs who have/will put in their papers.
Prohibitory orders have been declared in in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad till the 1st of January 2010.
