Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today attended the funeral ceremony of Nagarjuna Sagar MLA and TRS leader Nomula Narasimhaiah, held at the deceased's native village Palem in Nakrekal mandal.
After the funeral, Rao paid rich tributes to the veteran politician, and said that the latter would be remembered as a dedicated leader who had spent his life in the service of the people of the state.
The CM also met and consoled the bereaved family.
Earlier, the body of Narasimhaiah, who had
passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack, was taken to his residence at Nakrekal from the Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences in Narketpally, so that his supporters could come and pay their respects to him.
Along with the CM, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, several state ministers and TRS MLAs, and thousands of the MLA's supporters also attended the funeral to pay their tributes to the former MLA.
