Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, as an Independence Day gift, today declared that recruitments would happen for 40,070 more posts as part of his government's promise to create more employment opportunities for the jobless youth in the state.
In his address on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day celebrations from the ramparts of the historic Golconda Fort today, the Chief Minister said that a notification to fill these posts would be issued shortly.
Since 27,660 vacancies had already been filled so far and another 36,806 vacancies were being recruited for, with the newly announced 40,070 posts, the state government would have given 1,12,536 jobs, he said.
Asserting that the TRS government was working with the twin objectives of development and welfare, the Chief Minister regretted that some "disruptive forces" were working to scuttle his efforts to ensure better living conditions for the poor and the downtrodden.
His government would however not be deterred by any of those hurdles and would work with more conviction and determination to fulfill the promises made for the upliftment of the poor, he vowed.
KCR said that statehood for Telangana, too, was achieved through the same principles of peaceful and democratic struggle that helped the nation achieve its independence. And within a short span of three years, the new state had achieved a growth rate of 21.7%, which was a record in the country, and had received nationwide appreciation and become a role model for other states, he claimed.
The Chief Minister highlighted various developmental and welfare programs initiated by his government. The state had achieved tremendous progress in the power sector, and the government was taking measures to set up various power generating units so that from the next year it would be able to provide uninterrupted power supply to the farmers for 24 hours. In fact, the state would achieve surplus power and be in a position to cater to the power needs of other states, he claimed.
KCR also spoke of all the irrigations projects being taken up. Mission Bhagiratha would offer drinking eater to every household in the state, and Mission Kakatiya would resurrect the dried up tanks which would help generate more agricultural produce, he said.
The state government was going all out to encourage handloom weavers by ensuring that handloom saris and clothes were distributed in all the state-sponsored festivals, he said. And a textiles park would soon be opened in Warangal, he added.
The CM said that the state government was determined to eradicate the drug menace by launching a war against the drug mafia and peddlers. The government was also clamping down on gambling and spurious seeds.
As a result of the tremendous work being done by the SHE teams of the police, the government was ensuring the protection and safety of women, he said. The state's SHE teams had in fact become role models for other states trying to enhance protection for women, he said.
KCR also highlighted the efforts bring made to achieve the TRS' election promise of providing quality education from KG to PG. As many as 522 Gurukul schools had been opened in the state to provide education to the poorer sections on par with that in the corporate educational institutions, he said. Even in offering health and medical services the government had made good strides, which were appreciated by the Governor during his recent visit to Gandhi Hospital, he said.
While detailing the progress being made in the industrial sector, the Chief Minister said that his government was taking all possible steps to organize the World Industrial Conclave during November which would be attended by US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump besides many industrial giants from various parts of the globe.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, soon after his arrival at Golconda Fort where the Independence Day celebrations have been held ever since Telangana State was formed, inspected the police parade. Later, he unfurled the tricolour and took the salute of the march-past. On the occasion, the CM also presented awards to recipients in various fields.
