Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy today assailed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that the latter was only pretending to oppose the BJP while in the state, but was kowtowing to the party in his ongoing Delhi trip.
Referring to the CM's recent interactions with the saffron party's national leadership, Reddy asked him why, if he was really fighting with the BJP's leaders, he was also bowing before them in his trip to Delhi.
"It is common knowledge that the TRS and the BJP are secret friends. Why do you then pretend to be rivals?" he asked.
Continuing his volley of allegations, the MLC also alleged that the CM had not waived off the loans of the farmers in the state even after being in power for two terms, despite claiming to be "pro-farmer".
He also accused the CM of forcing the farmers to undertake loss-making ventures instead of working towards their welfare.
Asking the CM to help the farmers if he was really committed to their welfare, the Congress leader demanded that the CM extend monetary relief worth Rs 10,000 to each of the farmers who had cultivated fine quality rice under the state's regulated farming scheme.
Referring then to the recent untimely rains in the state, Reddy alleged that the TRS government had failed to conduct any surveys to understand the issues being faced by the people in the aftermath of the devastating floods caused by the rains.
