A case was filed in a Karimnagar court against Andhra Pradesh Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao on Tuesday by YSR Congress Party former president Singireddy Bhasker Reddy.
In response, the court issued summons to Kodela to appear before it on April 20.
A few days ago, Rao, in a V channel interview, stated that he had spent Rs 11.50 crores for the elections held in 2014. In his petition, the YSRCP leader stated that spending Rs 11.50 crores in an election was against the election code.
After hearing the petition, the court admitted it, and directed the Karimnagar Chief Judicial Megistrate to register a case against Rao. Following the directions of the court, Special Mobile PCR Magistrate Satish Kumar registered a case under Sections 171E, 171F, 171H, 171I and 200 of the IPC.
