Kapu Reservations: Mudragada To Fast From March 11
Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham threatened to revive his indefinite hunger strike from March 11 if the AP government did not fulfil its promises to him by then.
Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Friday demanded that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu fulfil all promises made to the Kapu community during the former's recent indefinite fast.
Setting a deadline of March 10 for the State government to implement its promises, Mudragada declared that he would revive his indefinite hunger strike from March 11 if the government remained adamant.
Talking to mediapersons at his residence in Kirlampudi, Mudragada alleged that the State government was bugging his phones and trying to show him in poor light.
He also slammed Naidu for making disparaging remarks against him during a recent loan disbursal program at Eluru.
Taking strong exception to the TDP-dominated "Janmabhoomi" committees deciding on the Kapu loan beneficiaries, Mudragada demanded that every applicant be given a loan. He also said that the Kapu Corporation should be allocated Rs 500 crores for taking up development and welfare activities for the Kapus.
Mudragada also lambasted Naidu for encouraging land grabbing around the new AP capital area.
"Why does the capital city need 33,000 acres of land? Why are the poor and the marginalised being threatened to part with their lands? Why are only those belonging to the TDP getting benefited?" he asked.
