Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday received a jolt when former MLA K Sivananda Reddy refused to accept the post of the incharge of Kadapa District Congress Committee.
Talking to reporters at New MLA Quarters here, Sivananda Reddy said that he was nominated as the incharge for Kadapa district without even being consulted once. Announcing that he would not accept the post, he said that the new responsibility was being assigned to him only to make him a scapegoat. He said that the Congress party was presently experiencing a bad phase, and that accepting the responsibility at the fag end of the five-year term of the government would affect his political career.
Shivananda Reddy said that if the party suffers defeat in the district during the next elections, then being the incharge of DCC, he would be blamed for the damages. Therefore, he said that he was not willing to accept the new post offered to him by the PCC President.
It may be mentioned that Botsa has recently appointed the incharge for District Congress Committees for nine districts. (INN)
