Kadiam Takes Charge As Telangana Deputy CM
Kadiam swore he would maintain transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Education Department assigned to him, and tolerate no corruption.
Kadiam Srihari assumed the charge as the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana at the D-Block of the State Secretariat, on Friday.
Speaking to media persons later, Kadiam assured that he would maintain transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Education Department, which had been assigned to him by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He said that the implementation of the KG-to-PG free education scheme would be one of his top priorities. The process of teachers' recruitment through the District Selection Committees (DSCs) would also be hastened.
He also advocated good coordination with Andhra Pradesh to end controversies over the conduct of intermediate exams, and EAMCET and other common entrance tests.
Kadiam said that steps would be taken to bring education in Telangana on par with international standards. He said that he would implement the policy of zero tolerance to corruption in the education department.
He thanked KCR for making him the Deputy CM and assigning the Education Department to him.
He advised the students of Telangana to nurture a competitive spirit and emerge as the best in the country.
Ministers including Nayani Narasimha Reddy (Home), Etala Rajender (Finance), T Harish Rao (Irrigation), P Srinivas Reddy (Agriculture) and G Jagadish Reddy (Energy) were present on the occasion. (INN)
