Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud on Wednesday expressed confidence that the people of the Kadapa Lok Sabha and the Pulivendula Assembly constituencies would reject former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and his party, and would vote for the Congress candidates, owing to the former MP's corrupt activities.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills, the MP described Jaganmohan Reddy as "the most corrupt person", and wanted to know how he (Jagan) had managed to build assets to the tune of Rs. 78,000 crores within a short span of time.
"This would not have been possible without the support of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan had earned the thousands of crores of rupees by indulging in corrupt practices," Goud stated.
Considering this history, the people of Kadapa constituency would reject his candidature in the by-elections, and would give a chance to Congress candidates who are free from corruption charges, he claimed.
Stating that former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's staunch supporter and MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, too, has leveled charges of corruption against Jagan, the MP said that the people of the Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies were likely to vote for Congress candidates D L Ravindra Reddy and Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
Reacting to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Harish Rao's description of the leaders from Telangana who were campaigning in the by-elections as "Telangana traitors", Goud demanded that the TRS initiate action against anyone who first hoists the flag of the YSR Congress Party in Telangana region.
