With the much-awaited results of the Kadapa by-polls due tomorrow, the Election Commission (EC) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the counting of votes takes place peacefully. This event is scheduled to take place on Friday from 8am onwards, at JMJ Junior College For Women.
District Collector Shashi Bhushan Kumar explained that 8 rooms of the college would be used for counting the votes polled, and that 14-24 tables would be accomodated in each room.
He also said that the number of rounds that would be required to count the votes polled in each constituency are as follows: Pulivendula - 22, Kadapa - 12, Mydukur - 14, Proddatur - 16, Badvel - 10, Kamalapuram - 15 and Jammalamadugu - 17.
Kadapa Superintendent of Police (SP) Tarun Joshi informed the media that police forces are in place, and that the security has been arranged in 3 distinct tiers to ensure maximum safety.
Meanwhile, the people of Kadapa continue to
gamble on the outcome of the by-elections.
The members of the 3 political parties involved, namely the Congress party, the YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), express confidence that they would emerge the winners, while plotting a Plan B to employ in the event that their performance is not favourable.
