Congress' Medchal MLA K Lakshmi Reddy, on Thursday, denied reports that he was planning to quit the Congress party.
Speaking to media personnel, Lakshmi Reddy alleged that one particular news channel, which is owned by TRS leaders, has been instrumental in spreading rumours that he was planning to quit the Congress to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Condemning the news channel in question, he alleged that such a misleading report was being aired only to distort his image amongst the public. He also announced that he will lodge a complaint against the news channel for giving out baseless information with the Election Commission of India.
Lakshmi Reddy accused the TRS of resorting to cheap tactics to demoralise and confuse the Congress cadre.
However, he said that the TRS will not be successful in this regard, and that Congress workers will launch an aggressive campaign in the entire Ranga Reddy district to take the party's message to the people. (INN)
