Just Provide Two Meals A Day To The Poor: Komatireddy To KCR
The Congress MP said the poor were living in abject hunger for the last 15 days, and asked the CM to feed them twice a day instead of spending hours holding press meets.
Bhongir MP and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today alleging that the latter was not taking any steps to solve the problems being faced by the people of the state in this difficult period.
In an open letter to the CM on the issue, he said that he was being forced to write the letter after seeing the hunger cries of the poor of the state.
He said that the poor were living hunger-filled lives for the last 15 days in their houses, without money to buy even essential commodities, and asked the CM to feed them two times a day instead of spending hours together holding press meets.
He advised the CM to not make tall statements that he was ready to spend crores of rupees for the prevention of the coronavirus in the state, and instead just help the poor survive.
He demanded that the CM immediately release the Rs 1,500 that he promised and provide 12 kgs of free rice to all the white ration card holders.
And since there were hundreds of people in the villages without white ration cards, he asked the CM to also provide the 12 kgs of free rice and Rs 1,500 to all such families, too.
Reddy also demanded that the CM come to the rescue of the mango and the orange farmers of the state. He said that the state government should buy the mangos and oranges, and instill confidence among those farmers.
