BRS Working President K T Rama Rao today launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and questioned Reddy's decision to cancel several government welfare schemes. "Is it your uncle's money or your father's money to cancel welfare schemes meant for the people?" KTR asked.
Speaking at a BRS roadshow in Yousufguda as part of the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign, KTR said that if the government failed to deliver people's money to them, BRS workers would take up the responsibility of distributing it directly at Yousufguda Crossroads.
He alleged that some petty rowdies were threatening people to vote for the Congress. "They are issuing warnings to people even before winning the election. If they win by mistake, will these criminals let us live?" he asked.
KTR accused the Chief Minister of making desperate efforts to defeat Maganti Sunitha, a widow. "So far, the CM has spent Rs 250 crore. He is distributing Rs 6,000 per house in Shaikpet, Rs 5,000 in Yousufguda, Rs 4,000 in Erragadda and Rs 6,000 in Borabanda. Even in this, lower-level leaders are taking commissions and giving only Rs 2,000. This money will vanish in four days. Don't think about this - think about your future," KTR urged voters.
He mocked that while surveys were predicting Congress' defeat, 14 State ministers were running around the constituency. "The CM is running around with his legs tied up and making baseless comments out of frustration," he said, adding that the verdict of the Jubilee Hills by-election would decide the Chief Minister's political future.
KTR appealed to the people to vote for the BRS.
