N Ramchander Rao alleged that both parties were focusing on the 20% Muslim population while neglecting the interests of the remaining 80% Hindus.

Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao today accused the Congress and BRS of indulging in appeasement politics to secure Muslim votes in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
Addressing a meeting of intellectuals, servicemen and businessmen at Brigade Citadel in the Erragadda division, Rao alleged that both parties were focusing on the 20% Muslim population while neglecting the interests of the remaining 80% Hindus.
He criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for inducting a Muslim minister at a "politically convenient time", calling it an attempt to influence voters ahead of the by-election.
Rao said that the BJP had no objection to representation from any community but was questioning the timing of the appointment.
The BJP leader also alleged that the Congress government had allotted land for a graveyard in a congested residential locality for appeasement purposes.
He said that both the BRS and Congress had failed to develop the Jubilee Hills area or address its basic civic needs, and that the Chief Minister's repeated campaign visits were unusual for a by-election.
Claiming that the real contest was between the BJP and the MIM, Rao alleged that the Congress candidate was on rent from the MIM, as he had previously contested on an MIM ticket.
Appealing to voters to support BJP candidate Deepak Reddy, Rao said that politics should be a service to the people, not a means for money or status.
