At a round table conference on allotment of house sites for journalists organized at the Press Club today, the Press Club and various unions of journalists unanimously resolved to bring the journalists' community together in order to achieve the objective of getting house sites allotted for all eligible journalists in Hyderabad and to form a journalists' housing coordination committee for that purpose.
Welcoming the assurances given by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that house sites / flats would be allotted to eligible journalists in the city, the meeting appealed to the CM to expedite the process and to complete the exercise in a transparent manner with the participation of the journalists' committee.
55 leaders of the Press Club and various journalists' unions, and several other senior journalists participated in the conference and deliberated on the issue.
Present at the meeting were President and Secretary of the Journalists' Cooperative Housing Society Limited D Venkata Chary and M S Hashmi respectively; General Secretary of Telangana State Working Journalists' Union K Virahat Ali; President and General Secretary of the Telangana Working Journalists' Federation M Somayya and B Basavapunnaiah respectively; President and Secretary of the Hyderabad Press Club Rajamouli Chary and Vijaykumar Reddy respectively; a leader of the Telangana Urdu Journalists' Forum Riyaz Ahmad Baqri; and senior journalists Shailesh Reddy, Dileep Reddy, Satyamurthy, VJM Diwakar, M Koteswara Rao, M Srinivas, Ajita Manjari, Venumadhava Rao, Rehana Begum, Easwar Redyd and M A Rahman among others.
