About 50 workers belonging to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad tried to lay seige to the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha in Sangareddy on Saturday.
Raising "Jai Telangana" slogans, the ABVP activists assembled at the Deputy Chief Minister's residence, and a few activists also tried to barge into the house.
However, security personnel foiled their attempts.
The protestors were demanding that Rajanarasimha resign from his post and join the Telangana statehood agitation.
After about an hour, all the activists were taken into custody. The police also resorted to mild cane-charge to control the protestors.
The Deputy Chief Minister was not present in the house at the time of the protest. He was in the state Secretariat, holding talks with the striking unions.
A similar protest was organised outside the residence of Information Technical Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah in Hanamkonda of Warangal district.
Over 50 activists of the Communist Party of India went to his house in rally, demanding Ponnala's resignation from the Cabinet.
The police foiled the protest and took the CPI activists into custody. (INN)
