Slamming the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for criticising the Congress using objectionable language, Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy said that the language used by KCR was in fact applicable to TRS.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall on Thursday, Reddy said that the Congress was taking the language used by the Chief Minister seriously. Taking strong exception to the Chief Minister calling leaders of the Left parties "naa kodukulu", Reddy condemned the CM's utterances. He pointed out that the Left parties had waged armed struggles for Telangana.
He said that the Congress leaders and cadre were abstaining from responding in similar language, and told the Chief Minister not to test the patience of his party.
"I can speak language three time worse than that used by the Chief Minister. But I cannot bring myself to use such language. The Chief Minister using such language is indicative of how mad power has made him," he said.
KCR was trying to extricate himself from the problems of the state by blaming his mistakes on the Congress, he alleged, and his use of foul language to do it showed that that he was lying. He asked KCR to stop such provocative speech, and show the dignity expected of a Chief Minister. The language used by the Chief Minister did not reflect well on the state, he said, and asked KCR if he would like it if all the people used the same language.
Reddy categorically stated that the Congress had no role in the people going to the courts. It was the people, who were vexed with the government, that were approaching the courts, he said, adding that persons who worked with Jagruthi had approached the courts. And the TRS government's irrational decisions were not standing up to judicial scrutiny, showing that the people were justified in their approaching the judiciary. The government had no understanding on several issues and hence was facing shocks in the courts, he said.
The Congress had always extended its cooperation for the development of the state, he said, pointing out that the party had supported the Singareni dependent jobs in the Assembly.
